Regional Water Authority Noorderzijlvest
The Regional Water Authority Noorderzijlvest (NZV) is responsible for almost all the surface water in an area of 144.000 ha in the north of the Netherlands. NZV is responsible for flood control, management of regional water resources (quantity and quality) and treatment of urban wastewater. NZV aims for ecological restoration of the water systems. Fish migration plays an important part in the restoration. Connections with policymakers NZV creates policies on regional scale and advices provinces and municipalities.
